Fourteen Ways To Say NO To Innovation & Change
Video Below

Pick a scenario:  as a parent talking to a teacher, as a teacher talking to an administrator, as a board member talking to the group, as an employee in a corporation or business - in any of these you may have experienced a number of the comments expressed in the Youngme Moon video below.

There are a few "checks" we deemed as very much alive and well in the education world.  Here is a sample to get you started:

#4 - "Show you're the smartest guy in the room.  Make skepticism your middle name".
No explanation needed here.

# 8 - "We've tried that before and it didn't work."  Okay, does it matter WHEN you tried it
(ie.  when it was the education "fad" at the time)?   Guess it might matter if the Internet wasn't even "invented" yet and globalization was a board game called "Risk"...

#5 - "The data"  Okay, cherry-pick the study or the school or the moment in time to validate your points and position.  But don't stop there.  Take it even further and throw out everything the other side stands for to the brink of destruction.  You must call all their initiatives "pure garbage".  Nothing less will do. Winning must be complete and thorough or there will be doubt as to your standing.

We had some fun with these two videos (we added a second one too which is a quick promo for Moon's new book "Different", which we thought was "creative") - let us know what you
think -
