Note Update 8/23/10:  There is a intro video on the Connect website.   We get the idea of imbuing our kids with a love/understanding of math and science and its value and relationship to the real world.  Yet, why do we always seem to depict American youth as clueless (or on those who are) compared to other countries?  Perhaps understanding the how and why we can change this notion serves our purposes better:  see
