William Bennett promoting his new book, "The Book of Man," below, which prompted an interesting discussion on MSNBC's Morning Joe today.
Skip the insidery bantering in the opening, and go straight to the 3:10 mark.
Some solid points about the importance of role models and modern identity but some awkward and curious moments, too. Bennett bounces around the topic of modern manhood so much, I wasn't quite sure if one of his conclusions included how men need lifetime mothers/assistants (ie. "to behave . . . to make more money"). He continues on the same theme somewhat with how men need marriage and structure more than women do, with dire consequences otherwise.
Surely will promote a conversation - found some difference in interpretations of this video by
a few people - let us know what you think.

Interesting discussion. Recalling my public school education some 30-40 years ago, my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teachers were all men, as well as at least half of my junior high and high school teachers. I'm sure that was probably an anomaly even then. However, in my older son's K-8 school there are 4 male teachers, most of them in the upper grades. My younger son's K-5 school has only 1 male teacher. There is a lack of male role-models at school.
